About the Author

Micah Penn

For over 40 years, Micah has been a theater professional and actor. From Atlanta to New York City to Los Angeles, he has done award-winning and critically acclaimed work. He has worked with such notable companies as Atlanta's famed Just Us Theater, and Jomandi Theater Company, Frank Silvera's Writers Workshop, the New York City Opera and LA's Unity Players Ensemble. He's also worked with such notable persons as TV Producer Tom Szentgyorgyi of The Mentalist, AUDELCO Award-winning director Ernie McClintock, Jim Nicola of New York Theatre Workshop, and David Alan Grier of In Living Color. Most recently, he worked as an actor and director for Impact Theater Atlanta.

For more than 12 years, he worked in the film industry in Los Angeles. An original employee of Arclight Hollywood Cinemas, he served as a public speaker, and trainer, as well as Special Events Coordinator for Arclight. During his tenure, he worked on major movie premieres- RAY, The Bourne Supremacy, The 40-Year-Old Virgin- and A-List celebrity talkbacks with every major studio in Hollywood. After leaving Arclight, he worked for American Film Institute, The Pan African Film and Arts Festival, The TCM Classic Movies Film Festival, and The Los Angeles Film Festival.

He is a member of SAG-AFTRA and ASCAP- as a songwriter and music producer. He has a B.A. in Drama and Theater from The University of Georgia.

He currently works as the Special Events Captain at the Ford Foundation for Social Justice in New York City.
